SOUND UP!
A visual poem by Viola Fox
When she’s oh so sad, her circus comes to town,
She longs to be a pin-up, she feels like a clown,
For the prize of rotten candy, she gambles her worth,
In her hall of mirrors, she sees a little girl,
Join her on her carousel, the organ strikes again,
Drink whisky, light a cigarette, seek the validation of men,
Welcome to her show – this is her confession,
A Cocktail of Absurdity.
A Tale of Depression.
What does a woman do when her sadness comes around?
She picks up a pen at the piano, of course, and she writes it all down.
(Music, poetry, visuals created by Viola Fox)

Viola VV Fox is an alter ego,
For the sadness we contain,
Because rhymes, art and music,
Both soothe and entertain,
Keep an eye out for her updates,
They’ll spontaneously pop around,
Could have picked yoga for a hobby,
Couldn’t I?
But alas,
I’m a f*****g clown.
Anyway, enjoy … if you dare.

Well done – words and images!

“For the prize of rotten candy, she gambles her worth”
For far too many decades this characterized me. I make better choices now, Besides ,I’m too old to play in the risk arena.
