The adulthood journey never looked bleaker, sorry better!

Welcome to The Life Crisis – an ‘erm, what am I doing with my life?’ cabaret of creativity, blog posts, songs, art and burlesque. In the midst of chaos and calamity, there comes a time to sing wrong notes loudly, dance badly and celebrate the horror show we call adulthood. Enjoy! If you dare …

Chapter 1 – The Quarter Life Crisis
Once upon a time, in my early…to mid…to late 20s, life served up embarrassing moments, career chaos, rocky relationships and a daily reminder that I had no clue where I was going with my life. I have since learned this is the joy of being human, with no thanks to the perfection we torture ourselves with on social media. Unlike my friends, who got sensible jobs and bought houses, I bought a domain name (The Life Crisis) and began documenting my horrifying journey through adulthood via short blog posts – like some sort of modern-day jester.
Chapter 2 – The Ongoing Crisis
Somewhere in the middle, I found myself the proud owner of a rescue greyhound, married and in the throes of a global pandemic (where, unlike my grandparents who survived a world war, I was tasked with staying indoors in my pyjamas all day watching Netflix. Truly terrible times). Ready to face the next phase of my life, I was kindly equipped with wise words from my mother – ‘… life in its entirety is a crisis.’ Hopeful words indeed. Where would I go from here?
Chapter 3 – The Cabaret Crisis
Now for the fun bit. Much like housework, there is no ending to this story … it goes on and on and on, forever and ever and ever – evolving with villainous plot twists and curious climaxes. With the help of Viola VV Fox (yes I’ve reached that stage in life where I have an alter ego… and an air fryer), my life’s tales are no longer constrained to short blog posts but play out in songs, art, dancing and plinky plonky piano.
Welcome to the show ๐ญ
